I would like to know if the following is true...a Racker serves on EDC? He was not able to attend Light-up, so the Mayor arranged for this person and his family to be driven through Windcrest, to look at Christmas lights, in one of our fire trucks! Is this true? And the Mayor and his girlfriend were also driven around in a fire vehicle?
It was not the Racker that serves on EDC board, it was another Racker and his family and yes the Mayor and his girlfriend, that were driven around in a fire truck and rescue vehicle. The Mayor also said, that Rackspace was talking about giving the WVFD $50,000 instead of the $20,000. That didn't happen in fact Rackspace wasn't even aware that they were giving $20,000 to the WVFD as the Mayor had said. It appeared that they were put in a precarious position.
