Fire Truck Tours for Windcrest Light Up!

Currently the WEDC does not have a "Racker' on the WEDC Board of Directors.  Originally when Rackspace first arrived the rules were changed to allow for one non Windcrest resident board member.  There was a fire truck with Rackspace vip and family touring Windcrest to view the lights, you could not miss that huge truck and everyone waving.

Slick Willy is about

As part of the 2007 "Project Castle", the City of Windcrest Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) purchased the old Windsor Park Mall property and vacant 111 acres down along Eisenhouer Rd. The property was annexed into the City of Windcrest.

A previous WEDC board had the right idea, they established a Declaration of Restrictive Covenants in August 2007 when the property was purchased by WEDC.  This declaration prohibited a list of businesses Windcrest wished to prohibit.  This declaration prohibited businesses such as mobile home parkssexually oriented businesses, used car lots, to mention a few..

July 18, 2013, the CURRENT WEDC Board, all hand picked by the current Mayor Baxter, approves a motion to Terminate the entire Declaration of Restrictive Covenants!!

Yes folks, the current WEDC board terminated the restrictive covenants so now nothing is prohibited.  Do you think this current hand picked board has any foresight?  You gotta ask yourself, what do they see?

It seems a change in current leadership is overdue!

Latest News

There is an excellent web site at "WindcrestWins.org" with tons of valuable information.  The City of Windcrest recently accepted a Financial Audit of both the City of Windcrest and Windcrest Economic Development Corporation.
The WindcrestWins.org site presents many highlights of the actual financial picture and what is actually happening behind the scenes.  The Auditor's report was pretty clean.  It tells me there were invoices for payments, the numbers of income and payments match.  But there is no mention of what the invoices are paying for.
For example, there is an entry to Houston Community Bank for loan payoff for some $12+ K.  A search of the City of Windcrest web page returns nothing concerning Houston Community Bank.  Whose loan was this?  Why did the City of  Windcrest even have a loan from Houston Community Bank?
Another example are the vast number of canceled checks.  Checks were written to individuals and companies for several thousand dollars, then more checks to the SAME individuals and companies for the exact same amounts.  Next there are entries to Void the checks.  Ok, so you think, no big deal, I've done that with my own checking account.  Did you do it some 30 times? Keep in mind, these are professional financial people!  So why so many mistakes?
